Please receive our compliments for the beautiful pictures you took of some boys and girls who live in the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Our team browsed your site – Global Street Child, and got proud of it. The pictures are really impressive.
We know how difficult is to work with Street Children. The results do not come easily. You really worked hard for them.
Thank you for your significant contribution to this sad social problem – children living in the Street.
Associação Beneficente São Martinho – Rio de Janeiro – Brazil is fortunate to have you by its side and looks forward to more success for your project - Global Street Child.
We, hereby, recommend your project for new supporters and hope that they will help you to maintain it. Keep up this very good work.

It is a well-known fact that street children are a worldwide problem that requires everybody’s attention. Through the work of Global Street Child this problem is made more visible. I found very touching and impressive, the portraits of street children in different countries as potrayed by Ton Hendriks . He succeeded to photograph the young people in a very natural and pure way, without corrupting their authenticity. Through organisations such as Global Street Child, the vicious circle of poverty, violence, joblessness and criminality in which these young kids live, is brought to light. A universal consciousness is the first step on the way to looking for solutions.

Our thanks to Global Street Child for the inspiration and motivation that it gives to our work.

In hun karakteristieke houding én kijk.

Dear Global Street Child,

Thank you for this mail, we at CAS remember that you(Ton) were here as part of this photo project and indeed took some photos of some street children in Accra through our assistance. You went further to interview our Director Bro. Jos van Dinther about our activities. We at CAS would continue to collaborate with all individuals or organizations who are working in the interest of street and other needy children. Therefore we take this opportunity to encourage you and also wish you success in the execution of this laudable project. Thanks.

Best regards,

Charles Baffoe

Street children live in dire circumstances, their rights and needs constantly being ignored. We should care as much about these children as we do of our own. Leaving them out there, fending for themselves against the odds, leaves scares on their souls and on our societies as a whole. Global Street Child, through the use of powerful images, raises awareness on the plight of these children. This is necessary so that efforts will be undertaken to change the situation of street children world wide. We wish Ton Hendriks all the best in his efforts.

The Consortium for Street Children is the only worldwide network that works collectively to help street children on a global scale. We mobilise our passions, values, beliefs and resources to coordinate and support committed individuals, groups and organisations in the interest of street children. We especially dedicate our efforts to strengthening emerging civil society, state and market partnerships that respond to the needs of marginalised communities, such as urban slums where many street children originate. Through good stewardship we deliver efficient and responsive programmes that help build a global community in which the rights of street children are promoted and protected.

It might be possible for us to use your photographs and case studies in order to raise awareness about street children and the challenges they face.

Hi Ton,

We members of UPCO and some concerns people of Ghana have aplaud your steps to ensure that the voice of voiceless is heard. I must also admit for the fact that you were my mentor when you visited Ghana go make some photgraphs. By then I was a street boy and through advice and counselling you offered me. I am now a head of Urban Poor Child Organization. You and I know that before one becomes a street child, it starts from somewhere, therefore there is the need to address all corners needing to streetism. That is why we choose to address it from urban areas. On behalf of the 25,000 street childen in Ghana and 1884 registered Urban Poor Children in Accra, we say "Ayeekoo", well done for the giant steps. And to you readers and donors your investment to this project is not waste. A journey of 1000 miles begun with a step, therefore you have done well with your support.

Thank you. Gideon, www.upcoghana.com
